Nama ini diambil dari frasa "Pelayanan Sosial dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Nasional," yang mencerminkan komitmen jurnal ini untuk mempromosikan kesejahteraan sosial dan pengembangan masyarakat di Indonesia. Dalam bahasa Indonesia, "PESONA" termasuk dalam kelas kata nomina, yang didefinisikan sebagai "PENGARUH," yang sesuai dengan tujuan jurnal ini untuk memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Di luar makna linguistiknya, nama "PESONA" mewakili nilai-nilai dan prinsip-prinsip yang dianut oleh jurnal ini, yang menginspirasi dan memberdayakan individu dan masyarakat untuk menciptakan perubahan positif.
